HH the 14th Dalai Lama
Our order forms a part of the Gelug School of Buddhism for teaching linages and historic authority. We follow the buddhist direction of the Office of His Holliness the 14th Dalai Lama.
The founder of our order
Bodhidharma, is revered as the founder of Chan (Zen) Buddhism in China and the first patriarch of Zen. According to tradition, he was an Indian Buddhist monk who traveled to China during the Northern Wei dynasty, where he imparted the teachings of meditation and enlightenment. Bodhidharma is famously known for his emphasis on direct transmission of enlightenment outside scriptures and reliance on meditation as the path to spiritual awakening.
He is often depicted with piercing eyes, symbolizing his penetrating insight into the nature of reality. Though many stories and legends surround his life, Bodhidharma's profound influence on Zen Buddhism and the wider spiritual landscape remains undeniable.
The Kalachakra Council
Our council of trained masters, who come together to discuss the spiritual work of the order. This council of 13 Masters is formed of buddhists, christian, hindus and sikhs, and people of no faith, allowing a wide scope of discussion on the work of the order to encompass a wide range of global considerations.
